Jeanette was born and raised in the Netherlands but has also lived in a few other countries. Her father, a Dutch air force pilot, took job postings in North America, so her mother could be closer to her birthplace and family in Newfoundland, Canada. Places Jeanette has lived include Uden (Brabant, the Netherlands), Goose Bay (Labrador, Canada) and Wichita Falls (Texas, U.S.A). Currently Jeanette lives in the Pontiac in the Canadian province of Quebec.
Horses influence most of Jeanette's creations, they are her muse. But her abilities do not stop at just equine art. Jeanette has many various styles and abilities under her belt! Her creative skills are vast due to her not limiting herself to just one style or medium. The "subject" will request the style and medium.
Jeanette graduated in 2003 with a Bachelors of Fine Arts from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas and has also received a diploma in Interior Design from the International Academy of Design and Technology, Montreal, Quebec in 2005. From 2010 on Jeanette has been a Parelli natural horsemanship instructor and since 2019 became an independent horsemanship instructor so she can focus more on her art career.
During her university years Jeanette was very active in the art scene with exhibitions, publications and receiving awards. Most of her university work has sold over the years and is in private collections through out the world. Currently Jeanette is enjoying privately commissioned pieces that include horse, cat and dog portraits and in her free time she continues creating her own body of work. Jeanette is also part of art and horse organizations such as the Nepean Fine Arts Council and the Pontiac Equestrian Association to name just a few.
